15th July 2020
Sadly, recently dear Jake had started to decline with his health and it was discovered that he had gone into kidney failure, and whilst it was tried, there wasn’t anything that could be done to help Jake.
So with much sadness I have to tell you that Janet and Andy said their goodbyes to him on Sunday 12th July and Jake peacefully passed over to Rainbow Bridge.
Run free dear Jake, sweet dreams, RIP you will be missed by many but none more so than Janet and Andy
Our thanks to Janet and Andy for caring for Jake under WiNs wing, making him feel loved and secure, in the final chapter of his life. He was certainly one very special little WiN Westie. Our thoughts are with Janet and Andy
We have been trying to get this poor westie into rescue since last year, but the ‘owner’ did not want him to come into rescue. We think he is about 11 years old, and you can see he has been very badly neglected, and his very sore and blackened skin left untreated
Thankfully now he is safe, in foster with Janet, and his treatment has started, we are using totally natural products, he will have regular baths using the Dermacton Soap Bar, and the Dermacton Cream massaged into his sore skin on a daily basis, we will use the Dermacton Spray for his feet and paws. The Trophy Small Bite Holistic food is on its way for him.
Jake will be in long term foster with Janet, we will not be re homing him
Jake is slowly improving under the love and care of Janet, some of you may think his skin still looks awful, but as those who have been following is progress since coming into WiN he is much improved, the Trophy food, and the Dermacton products , and Janets care is really making a difference
Again you may think his skin still looks bad, for those of you who have been following his progress, you will really see the difference in him, unfortunately he has got an ear infection associated with his sore skin, he is receiving treatment for this
Janet was delivering cards yesterday, with Jake on a lead, lady came to door, letting dog she was looking after out, dog mauled Jake, Janet took him straight to vet who operated immediately, Jake pulled through, and will go back to vets today, bill is expected to be £600 +, owner will be reported, but it appears he shows no remorse for his dogs actions. Please keep dear Jake and Janet in your thoughts xx
Poor Jake had to go to vet hospital as he has abscess in his wounds, been on AB s , and now at vets to be sedated to drain puss out of wounds, please keep this very poorly Westie in your thoughts, thank you xxx
As you are aware, it has been a while since updating on Jake but his lovely foster Janet has been busy concentrating on this little westie. A lovely WiN follower has been asking after Jake so Janet has recently sent an update to say the following :-
Jake continues to improve and is an absolute joy. He loves to run around the garden and has taken to digging huge holes under the hedges as a reaction to being chased by us when we try and get him back in the house. His skin is improving and his fur is growing back albeit fluffly and sparse, but it is now growing over most of the affected areas. His weekly baths are still tolerated more than enjoyed but he does enjoy his blow dry and cuddle after. He is a wonderful little chap.
Thank you again to Janet for caring for this little westie
