Rocky- Adopted

Westie Rocky needed to come into rescue after his owner’s death. Rocky is 15 months old and is in foster care with Linda in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts. Rocky is booked in with the vet for castration on Thursday, 30th April.

Update from Linda 28.04.2026

Where do I begin? He is the sweetest, most adorable boy, not a bad bone in his body!

He is house-trained and eats exceptionally well. Wants to be with you 24/7. He would be best with another dog, as they play well together most of the time. If Rupert is resting and Rocky wants to play, Rocky will bark and try to get Rupert to play. He loves the licky mat. I put sardines in it. He does need further training; he is still young, but his basics are good. He has not been off the lead. He loves going out exploring, and he can be distracted, even at home. He is very strong. I use a harness, which helps. He will approach other dogs and wants to play. He does need socialisation manners from older dogs; i.e., if he keeps sniffing an older dog and they aren’t keen, he doesn’t know when to ‘back off’ depending on the other dog’s temperament. Sometimes, they have to give a warning growl. He loves squeaky toys and balls. He has had a bath and will sleep as good as gold. I wormed and flead him today. He loves the car. We visited my friends on Saturday, and he was as good as gold. He is a great ‘watchdog’; he has a really deep bark for a small dog.

Update Rocky has now been castated, and recovering well, he goes back to the vet on Tuesday the 5th of May for a post op checkover and his booster vaccination

Update after his vet visit, Rocky no longer needs to wear his cone.

I hope I get this cone off next Tuesday!

We love chasing around together.
These cushions are comfy
I am a bit of a poser!
I think i had better check the garden out
