Harry-Adopted

Dear Westie, Hector is 7 years old and has been badly neglected by his previous owner. He only weighed 5g. Waverley Vets, Shortheath, Farnham, contacted me to ask if WiN could accept him into rescue. Of course, I said yes! But then the owner changed his mind and would not surrender him, this went on for some time, but thankfully he did sign him over to the vet practice. Dear Alice and Lauren at Shortheath bathed him, clipped his matted fur, and fed him little and often. Blood tests were taken, and his vaccinations were started. When they thought he was well enough to travel Karen kindly offered to go and collect him, and make the long journey to Pat and Peter in South Yorkshire, and they kindly agreed to foster him. Pat and Peter many years ago now, adopted dear Westie Kenny from WiN, he was going to be pts by the RSPCA, as he had a bald patch on his back. I called them and said we could take him to our rescue, I advised we specialise in Westies with sore skin and use natural products. Dear Kenny had a wonderful life with Pat and Peter. He died peacefully last year. A few months ago we took a Westie named Charlie with us in North Yorkshire. I had a feeling he would be ideal for Pat and Peter, so they came up to meet him, they loved him, and he loved them, so another very happy adoption.

Thank you so much, Alice, Lauren, Karen, Pat and Peter, and of course, Charlie, This little Westie is now safe, and cared for.

Update from Foster Pat

Well, here we are on a few days in our caravan. We had booked this holiday some weeks before, but when Mo asked Peter and me if we could bring Harry the Westie who is 7 years old and badly neglected by his owner into Westies in Need. He only weighed 5kg, had not been castrated and was called Hector, but the vets decided to rename him Harold. Both Peter and I decided he looked more like a Harry, so Harry it is. After discussing Harry’s future with Mo and Ian we decided it would be best for him if Peter and I were to foster Harry. He is booked into the vet to be castrated and a full check-up. We want to put Harry back on the road to recovery and then we will decide where to go from there.

I think I will make this ‘my chair’
I am so lucky to have Pat as my foster ‘Mum’
Relaxing again
Investigating with Charlie
Peter taking us for a stroll
I am enjoying my time at the caravan
