Helga – adopted

Westie Helga needed to come in to rescue due to her not getting on with the other resident dog, and the toddler in the home

Helga is 2 years old, and not yet spayed. She is in foster with Valerie and Neil in Newcastle upon Tyne

Notes from Valerie

Helga has a few issues which we are working on

She overreacts to sudden movements and noises in and outside of the house.

Walks fine on the lead but barks at some, not all dogs, especially if they are also on lead and pass on the same side of the street.

Does bark and jump up when meeting some people.

She has been fine with us, there are no signs of aggression or snapping. Responds well to her name; sits when asked. Isn’t resource-guarding toys or food. Loves snuggling up on the sofa.

She definitely needs a home without young children or other dogs- we hope that home will be ours!

Note from Mo

I rather think Valerie and Neil will become a failed foster and will be adopting Helga when the time is right xx

Update, I am delighted to advise that Val and Neil are adopting Helga x

My first trip to the beach
snuggling in my bed
Just resting my head on Neil’s leg
how far are we going?
This is mine
Looks like I am getting wet feet
WoW I can have a good run around
Now what are you doing?

Update 19.03.2025

Helga has now been spayed and is recovering well. She has involuntary bounds of ‘twitching’ which last just a minute or so, but these are lessening, so Val is monitoring these
